I've showed him how to repair his wireless connection, but quite often this doesn't work, and he gets a message that says "Please contact the person who administers your network". So he leans over, and pokes me, and says "Excuse me, network administrator..."
The network administrator has been having some iss-ues of her own this morning. Hugo's supposed to be taking it easy after his operation (or "procedure" as the hospital staff insist on calling it) and minimising his standing up/walking. Plus, at 3am he was having an episode of atrial fibrillation, bad enough that we called an ambulance. By the time the nice paramedics arrived, his heart rate had dropped back to around 100, and we decided not to go to the hospital. The paramedics did an ECG, and said they thought he was in irregular sinus rhythm, but I think not - I've had a good look at the trace this morning (they left it with us) and the p-waves are noticably irregular on the first part and missing entirely on the second half of the little paper slip. Atrial fibrillation can have either - irregular or missing. Top line below is AF, bottom line normal rhythm (red arrow shows lack of p-waves (ha) and purple arrow shows normal p-wave):
The trace from last night looks remarkably like the top line - or at least the second half of it does. The first half looks more like this (also AF):

Anyhoo, his heart seemed to be going awfully fast and he felt faint. It seemed like it took the ambulance approx eleventy-three years to get here, but actually was only five mins. And by then his heart had calmed down quite a lot. The paramedics told us they'd had a busy night - they'd been called to a birth (mother's fourth baby, arrived unexpectedly fast) and also a guy had driven into what may have been a library or a block of flats (car was totalled but he walked away). Personally not sure how you could confuse a block of flats and a library (hint: one has less books) but there was some debate on this issue.
But the net result of the whole thing was about an hour awake at around 3am. So when I got up this morning to make my coffee, I filled the pot up with water, put it on the stove, and waited hopefully for my caffeine fix. It is difficult to getafix, however, if one forgets to put coffee in the coffee pot. Which is what I did this morning.
So the coffee pot got a good clean and I then managed to make actual coffee rather than hot water on the second attempt.
Also, I'm pretty sure I got bitten by a 'pider yesterday. It's made a nasty lump on my arm, and I have put a bandaid over it so I don't have to look at it. I'm pretty sure it wasn't venemous, or I'd be having symptoms by now (and it wasn't a whitetail, I saw it running away after it chomped me, so I probably don't have to worry about my flesh, you know, disintegrating).
And then just before, we saw a bird fly past the window carrying a plastic bag in its beak. Hugo said "it's off to do some shopping".
Speaking of which, my PUs got not one but TWO new kitties. They're Russian Blues, and they're rather sweet. We called in to see them yesterday on the way home from the hospital. I'll post some photos over the weekend.

Lordy! I'm not surprised about the coffee! (I can relate.)
Oooh! Kittens!!!
Bec
thanks for the quick ECG refresher!
EB, actually, full-grown cats - they're two years old. They're litter sisters, I found them on the intertubes, free to good home.
They're rather gorgeous though - cute cute cute kitties.
Sewhum, you're most welcome! I know unfortunately much about ECGs!
Russian Blues are handsome cats!
I hope Hugo is ok... scary stuff....
